These are the players who are entered for tomorrow’s tournament.
No more switching from Saturday to Friday for 2013:
Too many players have requested that they switch from Saturday to Friday. In order to host a successful event, we have to turn down these requests after tomorrow’s tournament.
For the rest of the tournaments this semester, after this week’s tournament, Saturday members must play in the tournaments that they signed up for. We issue Friday and Saturday memberships while analyzing the numbers carefully so we do not “overbook” tournaments. And when so many players are requesting to switch schedules, it becomes very difficult for us.
This week we will make the effort to create more playing space (providing an extra room).
There are times when things are a bit slower and we can be flexible, but then it often gets to the point where so many players request the switch to Friday that we just have to say no to everyone. So for this week we can accommodate the requests for everyone, but after this week we have to do things as planned.
This pattern has happened in the last few semesters. First things are more flexible and we occasionally grant switching, and then we get many requests where we can’t say yes anymore, so we just have to say no to such accommodations.
Players who are not caught up with renewing their USCF memberships or who are behind on USCF or Panda Chess Academy membership fees will not be paired.
